I crashed this week. By which I mean I managed to make myself worse, exhausted, swollen glands and on Friday, lots and lots of pain. I hold my hand up. I overdid it. On the previous Friday we’d been to dog training. On Sunday we went to the monthly agility club. So far, so good. Only, steeplechase was on after agility and I wanted to do it. I sat down for most of it. There were willing helpers who did the running around for me, but still, 2 hours of doggy activity, it turns out, was still too much. And to be honest, Bobby was flagging too. So we won’t be doing that again.
Which means that not much gardening got done, apart from a bit of light pruning of hydrangeas. And no writing, at least, not stories. But other things were achieved, phone calls made, Ebay-ing items, the washing up, a trip to the groomers for Bobby. And knitting.
Three reminders this week. I love creating things. And I get a huge kick out of learning a new skill. In order to knit my first pair of socks, I’ve learnt how to use a magic loop circular needle, do a long-tail cast on, and Kitchener stitch. And I’ve been reminded of patience because I’m having to do a 2nd swatch to try and find the right size needles for the pattern. I tend to knit a little loose. It means I’m a relaxed knitter apparently. Much to my surprise on pain-filled Friday, knitting was ok. Which for me, is an ideal situation.
