Training course and learning materials design

Do you need to develop a training course but don’t have the time or expertise to design it? Or do you want to create a workbook for an individual learner to use to develop their knowledge and skills at their own pace? I have experience in designing courses and materials in the following areas:

  • Management development – including: recruitment and selection, change management, delegation, introduction to project management
  • Team development – including: away days, teamworking skills, building an effective team
  • Personal development – including: career management, assertiveness, confidence building, presentation skills, train the trainer, and facilitation skills

When designing courses I will discuss with you options such as: face-to-face workshops, coaching, diagnostics, pre-course reading, personality profiling, work-based projects, and online tools e.g. discussion forms and learning blogs.

I can also provide ‘Train the Trainer’ training for your in house team so they feel equipped to deliver the materials.

Below are examples of training design projects I’ve worked on:

Technical specialists delivering a 1 day induction session – worked with the 2 specialists to review their existing materials. Identified ways to make the session more interactive, reduce the number of Power Point slides, and develop an engaging, confident and facilitative delivery style.

2 half-day workshops for an in house legal education team – worked with the team on reviewing their existing materials and developing their delivery style.

Acting as subject matter expert for an e-learning course on ‘Train the Trainer’ – developed the storyboard and audio ( for a leading law firm).

Turning a 1 day face-to-face workshop on Change Management into a self-paced online format – as an associate, created the storyboard and provided creative input and testing for the client.
